Educated at The Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, Lord Forester has been running the Willey shoot for over seven years and in 2008 started letting days to allow others to appreciate the experience of shooting in such breathtaking surroundings.
Working closely with his game keeper Philip, Lord Forester takes an active role in every aspect of the shoot. Over the years he has gradually reintroduced some of the estates older drives, to produce a shoot with such geographical variety that it will test the most experienced guns while providing excellent sport for those with less expecience.
Lord Forester’s wife and his trusted golden retriever, Risk are never found far from the action. Lady Forester takes an active role behind the scenes and is also a passionate advocate of field sports, while Risk is by her master at all times.
The Foresters have long been a keen hunting and shooting family, dating back to before the Napoleonic wars when the first Lord Forester, Cecil, and his son John George, were both masters of the Belvoir Hunt in Rutland.
